You can't pull into the Twin Arrows Trading Post parking lot at all now. The trading post is long closed down and they have concrete barriers all around. Can't even pull over to do a picture.
[Dana, 08/11/2010]The Twin Arrows Trading Post site was featured in the movie Joe Dirt, in the scene where he goes looking for an Indian tracker.

I drove by Twin Arrows Trading Post. I was very excited to see that it is being slowly restored. It is currently being cared for by the Hopi Tribe with help from the Route 66 Association. Their goal is to turn it back into a tourist attraction and Indian market place. You can help by checking out their website at TWINARROWSAZ.COM
[Mick, 02/27/2010]The website notes: "We look to create an outdoor market place with a staging area for Native Dance and activities it will empower an 'Indian Marketplace at Twin Arrows' that will make a conduit to have tourist[s] visit Hopi Land."

When I went by I expected to see what was left of the twin arrows. I was very pleasantly surprised to see them looking brand new! It is hard to find any parking nearby, so if you want to stop you'll have to take a bit of a risk.
[LR, 10/07/2009]A nice restoration just completed, should keep these arrows sharp looking for at least a few years.
I drove through in May 2009. I knew I was getting close when I saw the sign for Two Guns. Once I saw the arrows, I pulled my semi to the shoulder...ran across both lanes of I-40, climbed over the concrete barrier, scaled over a chain link fence. The Twin Arrows Trading Post and adjacent diner, are in a picture book about the old route. The book is at least 10 years old, so it's obvious the condition is "pristine" in the picture. The diner is what I really wanted to stop for. The windows are all boarded up, but there was one door wide open. I walked in. Amazingly enough...the old place is still pretty well intact. Of course abandoned. The ceilings are falling in, but you can see the old grill, the main counter, plus a couple of stools. There are a few of the old sit down booths. There was tons of trash and dirt on the floor.
