A pattern of bark resembling the face of Jesus Christ was first reported in 2005. By 2014, even the most faithful would be hard-pressed to spot that face.

I visited the Jesus Tree recently. Time and the weather have taken their toll and the image is no longer visible. Fortunately, the first person who reported this phenomenon owns the pawn shop across the street, and they were kind enough to let me take a photo of the original photograph from when the image first appeared.

A silver maple tree bears a striking image of Jesus Christ. The tree sits a few feet from the sidewalk behind a black metal fence. This story was called in by a local gentleman and is featured in the Democrat and Chronicle morning paper along with a picture.
