The Apache Trading Post and adjacent Jackassic Park are permanently closed. The donkeys are gone and the building is for sale.
[Spike, 10/28/2013]Went by to see it and the trading post is now closed and the building up for sale. The photo op board with the donkeys is still up out front. It's a shame, they used to have a pretty good display about the Marfa Mystery Lights.

You've heard of Jurassic Park? Well, the Apache Trading Post in Alpine, Texas has Jackassic Park. See the singing mules, Petunia, Penolope and Pete with recent additions of burros Patches and Polkadot work for carrots.
Have your picture taken with friends at the donkey cut-out, where you can appear as Smart-Ass, Candy-Ass, Dumb-Ass, Lazy Ass and 1/2 Ass.
They also run a free, short video about the Marfa Lights.
