New metal chair. Washington, DC - World's Largest Chair Wannabe

Took the metro down to Anacostia to check out the newly-built World's (previously) Largest Chair and apparently it is no longer made of wood. The chair is now made of some metallic material, and from what I could see, the cushion on the seat appears to be made out of metal as well. I suppose this change was done to prevent frequent maintenance. The chair's worth a look-see though if you're just driving by. [Nat Balsley, 07/09/2007]

[RA: This old World's Largest Chair contender was re-dedicated on April 25, 2006. The 1959 historic plaque, left intact on the base, describes the original, 2-ton, all-wood chair.]
