Jean Lafitte Pirate Home When I was about 18 someone drove me by there, and on my first trip back to the island after Ike I had to drive by and see if it was still there. (And it WAS!) [Manda Malice, 07/05/2009][RA: The ghost of pirate Jean Lafitte supposedly still rattles around Galveston Island, where he established a colony in 1817. These are the ruins left of his house, and we wouldn't expect much more, since hurricanes historically like to sweep this area clean of structures.]
