A pole-mounted jet of some sort -- it looks like a Nazi V-1 -- glides outside of a formerly abandoned gas station, now a tree nursery.

A nice nursery and tree service now occupies the site with the plane on a stick. At the corner of Montgomery and Harley.

It used to be a Diamond Shamrock gas station in the '70s and '80s. According to dear ol' dad, someone bought it and turned it into an antiques shop. The owner got the city to approve the airplane, but soon after went out of business.

I found this plane on a stick so interesting that I had to go back and take more pictures with a real camera. If you use Google Maps to find "Montgomery Street & Harley Avenue" you'll see a picture of the same plane in Street View at practically the same angle as one I took. What's also interesting is that in the Google Maps image the building is occupied. It looks like some kind of decorations store. However, look closely at my pictures, and you'll see that it was apparently later a Mobil station of some kind, but now closed.

While driving down Montgomery Street in Fort Worth, I passed by this airplane on a stick initially because I wasn't expecting to see one! But even under the worst of conditions -- getting dark, using only a low grade cell phone camera -- I had to turn around and take a picture to submit this tip to RoadsideAmerica.
