[Hokietiki, 07/15/2014]Natural Bridge Wax Museum
We pulled off the interstate for Foamhenge, and ended up with a wax museum as well. What a delightful treat! The displays had a lot of light tricks with screens and stuff; you would be looking at a display and another statue would pop up. The wax mannequins were really lifelike, and a few times I got creeped out. There was this one display of a mannequin sitting behind a desk staring at a TV, and all of a sudden it started to move and talk. At the end of the self-guided tour, there was a display of the Last Supper, where you sit in pews while listening to the story.
After the tour of the museum, you can walk downstairs to the wax factory, to see step-by-step how they make these wax figures, and touch the examples.
They had gels over all the lights in the museum and all the rooms were dark, so if your camera phone doesn't have a flash, you're out of luck getting pictures.
