Mmuseumm: Smallest Museum in NYC

A former elevator shaft converted into the smallest museum in New York City. Itty-bitty, but fully satisfying; has shoe thrown at George Bush in Iraq. Mmuseumm 2 opened next door in 2015, recreating the real closet of a woman who wore only white.

The Mmuseumm was very hard to find because it was closed on the day I was there. I walked right past it twice because the addresses are not marked clearly on any of the doorways. I finally saw some people in another doorway and they showed me where it was. I took photos to show what to look for if it is closed.

Even when the museum is closed, it has slots in its doors that allow people outside to see the illuminated exhibits within.

When I visited today ( 12 jan 2014), the docent told me that this was their last open date of the season. So maybe be prepared to view it only through the window.
