This is an eagle honoring the Veterans of the World War 1917-1918.
[Kathy B., 01/04/2017]The eagle was sculpted in 1923 by Theophilus Brouwer, who also created the nearby Globe Strutting Doughboy. The land behind the eagle was once the town school. With a 20-foot wingspan, it was once the largest carved eagle in the world.
