Cathedral of Junk

The Cathedral of Junk is still up and running. It is amazing to see and most definitely worth visiting. We were blown away by it. Call to make sure that the owner [Vince] is home if you go during the week. He's a super nice guy.

Precariously open, the city made Vince shut it down. Maybe still visitable, but a shadow of its former self.

All I can say is WOW! This is 100% worth the stop. I donated $2 and now kinda wish I had given more.

I visited the Cathedral of Junk this afternoon...I loved it! And YES he is open for business. You can knock on the front door or at the side gate -- his dog will bark. My GPS took me right to the front door, so the addy on here is accurate.

While it matches the description, there is a toxic sense to this stop. There is nothing playful about the man we met on our visit. Tasteless comments betrayed a negative energy. Glad it wasn't our only stop in Austin.

Uh-oh. Maybe the archbishop was having an off day...
