Stratton, Colorado: Milepost 419.99 (Gone)
With the legalization of marijuana, Colorado replaced I-70's milepost 420 with a milepost 419.99, to discourage potential thieves. Didn't work; the sign was usually missing. Mar. 2019: Reported will no longer be replaced.
- Directions:
- On the westbound side of I-70, about a half-mile before you reach exit 419 (Stratton).

As of 11/22/2020, the milepost 419.99 sign is still gone. Sign 421 and 419 are up, but no sign in between.
[April, 11/22/2020]As of this posting there was no marker at all. According to the very courteous (and very large) highway patrolman that pulled me over near mile marker 380: The Department of Transportation made the decision to no longer replace this mile marker, or the 420 mile marker on US 50. Apparently there are a few 68.5 mile markers in the State that remained in place .... The bottom line: It's gone and it's not coming back.
[David, 03/01/2019]Sadly, it is missing as of 7/21/2018. Post is there, sign is gone.
[Kathy Campbell, 07/24/2018]It is currently missing. We were very excited to see it but it wasn't there.
[Earl, 07/11/2018]This does not exist any more. We've been driving back and forth between Flagler and Burlington, Colorado, for the past three days on I-70 and it is definitely gone. No 419.99 or 420 mileposts. Bummer.
[Audra D, 09/09/2017]The 419.99 milepost was a response to the theft of the previous 420 milepost. Cannabis fans, this behavior is so uncool.
