Hotel Shaped Like a Cruise Ship
The 487-room Yankee Clipper Hotel was built in 1956 to resemble a huge cruise ship. It recently underwent a a major renovation both inside and out, and looks ship shape! Inside is the famous Wreck Bar, where patrons can look out underwater portals and watch a "live" mermaid perform every Friday and Saturday night. The building is a true head-turner and a welcome architectural oasis in a jungle of ugly cement condos and hotels.[casaflamingo, 02/14/2015]
