The old buildings on the overgrown square of the ghost town of Oakville have been turned into motel rooms, although they're called "guest houses." The old jail seems like the best choice.

Historic Oakville Jail and Guesthouse
The 1887 Oakville Jail is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Texas Historic Landmark -- as is the entire town of Oakville [Note: it's a tiny town]. Oakville was the original seat of Live Oak County before it moved to George West (Interstate 37 also cut the town in half). In addition to the jail, there are many historic buildings situated around the original town square. Each of these (except the railroad station) have been renovated and are filled with antiques and other artifacts. The best part is that each one has modern rooms that can be rented for a really cool Ghost Town kind of experience.
I was able to walk around the square when I visited (There were no guests at the time). It is possible to drive around the property and take pictures as well as visit the Texas Centennial and Historic Landmark monuments on the frontage road along IH 37.
