The framed pie plate and cash display no longer exists. I asked the cashier about it, and all she did was show me a page from the local newspaper dated August 17, 2011. The page was stored below the cash register.
[Bob E, 07/31/2022]Obama Pie - Coffee Mill Cafe
President Obama stopped here and purchased pies. You can sit in the booth where he sat. He mailed the pie plate back to the cafe; it has been framed with a story by the cafe's former owners [Carol and Dean Jackson] and the three $20 bills Obama used to pay for his pies. The cafe is now owned by the former owners' daughter-in-law, Shana. Very reasonable daily specials and friendly folk!
[Darlene, 09/25/2015]President Obama made his unexpected pie stop on August 15, 2011. He ordered a variety of slices. The one entire pie on the plate was a coconut cream.
