- Virginia Zoological Park. From downtown drive north on US Hwy 460/Church St. You'll pass St. Mary's Cemetery on the right. At the next stoplight turn right onto Zoo Drive. Drive to the parking lot. You'll see the elephant in front of the Zoo entrance building.

Elefly or Butterphant?
Life-sized, hollow aluminum elephant fashioned completely of butterfly silhouettes, which is also holding a gilded butterfly with wings shaped like elephants. Commissioned by the City of Norfolk, the piece, titled "All Things Within All Things," was created by artist Matthew Gray Palmer of Friday Harbor, Washington to illustrate the inter-connectivity of nature in a playful fashion. The sculpture was installed at the entrance to the Virginia Zoological Park in early 2010.
