Historical marker.

First Automobile Voyage by Horseless Carriage

The Haynes Horseless Carriage inaugural test drive was July 4th1894. This marker contradicts the other monument. Both are on Boulevard St. less than a half mile apart.

[Charles Hunt, 01/21/2017]

The marker complements, rather than contradicts, the monument. It notes that the first trip by car extended over "a six mile course" on the old Pumpkinville Pike, which passed by the spots currently occupied by both the monument and the marker.
