Last Slabs of the Seedling Mile

Interesting local history. If you blink you'll miss it. I would not drive out-of-the-way for this, but if you were on your way it is full of "gee-whiz" history. The concrete mixture is definitely different than what we use today.

[Russ & Annette, 07/05/2017]

The Seedling Mile was a gimmick to show taxpayers how nice the Lincoln Highway would be if taxpayers would pay to pave all the other miles. The Highway was eventually rerouted, leaving this tiny blocked-off original section abandoned and, now, preserved as a monument.
