Elephant Discovery Center
By far the classiest attraction in the area. The breezeway next to the building has all sorts of very well-designed interactive elephant "games" that are great learning opportunities. Also, there are several selfie spots, and of course the star of the place, "Re-Tired," an elephant made of old rubber tires. Fun place, definitely worth the visit.
[Tim O'Brien, 11/17/2020]Elephant Sanctuary Center
The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee is the USA's largest natural habitat refuge for elephants retired from the entertainment industry. While the Sanctuary itself doesn't allow visitors (allowing the elephants to roam free), it does have a welcome center in downtown Hohenwald that anyone can visit and learn more about the plight of these intelligent and beautiful animals. The center includes live video of the Sanctuary grounds and its elephants (from 13 different cameras), interactive exhibits, and and life-size elephant made of recycled tires.
