Ted Pelkey paid $4,000 for a giant wooden fist with an upraised middle finger, then sat it atop a tall pole on his roadside property and lit it at night. He's angry at his town government, and his finger won't make them any friendlier.

The giant hand with extended middle finger was sculpted from wood and erected by Ted Pelkey, who's been in a battle with the town of Westford over his desire to develop his property. It hit the broader world and news in late 2018. The town can't make him remove the sculpture because it is designated as public art.
