Leedey Tornado Monument A rather whimsical sculpture when you consider it commemorates six
fatalities of the May 31, 1947 Leedey, OK tornado. The twisted metal twister includes elements such as a cow skull, a rusty tricycle, and a cowboy boot. Christmas lights are another feature. Whether these are premature Christmas decoration or part of the actual piece, I do not know. [Amy Buthod, 10/27/2002]
