Hell's Half Acre
This is a current photo of Hell's Half Acre showing the closed restaurant. The hotel is also being demolished and the interiors have been torn out. The structure is still standing though, so it's not clear what they are planning to do with it. The barriers are still in place to prevent driving up to the old parking area but you can still park outside the barriers and walk up anyway.
[Jon Frohlich, 05/30/2006]I just heard they are going to tear down the motel at Hell's Half Acre -- either burn it or demolish it. Doesn't say anything about the restaurant/gift shop. This was an article in the Jan 27 edition of the Casper Star Tribune.
[David Hupf, 02/04/2006]Natural Formation called Hell's Half Acre. You'll recognize it from the Movie "Starship Troopers" that was filmed on location. It's a great place to get out and stretch your legs since there's nothing else to do or see on this stretch of highway.
