We camped near Mammoth Cave in Kentucky Memorial Day weekend in 2005 and drove by the Wigwam Village.
[Jodi, 11/14/2007]We stayed at the Wigwam Village for our anniversary! It was great fun. Ivan, the current owner, who as it happens is an Algonquin Indian originally from Canada, was a great host. He even invited us to join him for dinner at his favorite restaurant. Don't miss the amazing Italian menu at Mario's! Octongenarian and world class chef, Mario Rizzitiello ships his mouth watering cheesecake to customers all over the country!
As for the Wigwam, you can't beat the price. Ivan says the nightly rate is not based on occupancy and that you can cram as many people into a Wigwam as you like. Realistically though, you would be pushing it with more than two adults and a very small child. We went in the off season so we were able to get in without a reservation. Don't forget to B.Y.O.B. It's a dry county.
