Big Ape

Unfortunately the Big Ape is gone. The owners sold the Ape to a motorcycle club with the agreement that he would be shown at parades, events, etc...While not at an event the Big Ape is in the clubhouse, unseen by the public.

Ape on a sign.

Big Ape

There is a big ape on a sign right near where Bragg Blvd crosses onto Fort Bragg. I don't know if I'd describe it as gigantic. I've driven past it for years and I remember it being bigger too. But as I stopped to take a picture I see that it's only about 6 feet tall. The ape's days may be numbered as a new interstate by-pass will be coming through. The store and property are for sale and I hear a McDonald's may be built on this site. So get out and see the ape while you can!

It's the loneliest ape in Fayetteville. That statue type is somewhat common and modestly sized, but this monkey's blown-out sign perch is amusing.

Big Ape

Gigantic black ape statue atop a tall sign post for a car sound and stereo place on Bragg Blvd., in between Ft. Bragg and Fayetteville, NC. Has been up since the early '60s, I think, along with the numerous old pawn shop balls and spires of that time period, which run up and down Fayetteville's Bragg Blvd.
