Memorial Lighthouse to a Murder Victim
Thomas "Tomcat" Tarr Jr. was an employee and relative of the owner of Tarr Concrete. In 2006, age 24, he was driving his truck at night and it had mechanical trouble. Two men who at first appeared to want to help him, instead robbed and shot and killed him. The Tarr family built a memorial to Tomcat at the entrance to the Tarr plant. Shaped like a lighthouse, it features a mural of Tom and his father.
