Daniel Boone has been saved and installed in my back yard.

Boone was formerly the parking lot mascot of The Shops at Daniel Boone Village in Hillsborough.

Daniel Boone is still there in 2018, but those shops are due for a razing for development. The shops are fun antique stores -- worth the visit if you like browsing through them.

Not really worth the stop in my opinion. Roadside America has much more fun things to see.

[John Mansfield, 10/06/2012]

The Daniel Boone is admittedly a lesser god in the pantheon of roadside giants if he's not augmented with an oil barrel fez or something.

Giant Daniel Boone is standing tall! The shopping center is perhaps not the most bustling, but he is guarding his post. In a dark ironic twist, across the street is a steakhouse under construction with a full sized plaster Native American on the roof.
