Daniel Boone - Pioneer Giant Giant Daniel Boone is standing tall! The shopping center is perhaps not the most bustling, but he is guarding his post. In a dark ironic twist, across the street is a steakhouse under construction with a full sized plaster Native American on the roof.

Daniel Boone - Pioneer Giant There's a statue resembling an 18th Century pioneer who led settlers from the North into North Carolina. Presently the centerpiece of a funky (but well-known) antiques mall -- The Shops at Daniel Boone Village -- in Hillsborough, a town founded in 1752 and an important Colonial center for trade and state government.
