Black Hills Holy Land - Closed
This was the most ridiculous and pathetic tourist trap in the Black Hills. The outcroppings of granite bedrock there tend to have vertical and horizontal cracks in them. Naturally, these cracks will "cross" often and form natural "crosses" in the rock. This one is a crooked crucifix, which you can see from the road (look up the mountain). Since you can see it easily they couldn't really charge admission, so they just had a chapel and gift shop. Naturally, it is now closed. I remember they used to park dead cars in the parking lot to make it look popular. The billboards advertising it used to say "THE LIFE OF CHRIST"
