Breckenridge, Colorado - 10th Mountain Division Soldier Statue

Along the riverwalk overlooking the west side of the Blue River west of downtown Breckenridge is a fine statue of a 10th Mountain Division soldier dressed in full gear, placed there in memory of the ski soldiers who trained at Camp Hale in Colorado for duty in World War II. He looks like he might've just skiied off the mountain into downtown. It was unveiled on July 4, 2003. [Richard J. Gardner, 01/03/2004]
