Foamhenge
Beautiful site. The stones are showing their age these days. More white than gray. A wonderful sculpted magician looked over the whole grounds. I really loved this place. Felt very fun and special. Exactly what I hoped it would be.

Holding up well. Beautiful, quiet, impressive. Enjoyed seeing Mr. Jordan as a commanding Merlin.

Thriving well, four families visiting during our first and brief visit, a welcome serene break on a long trip.

The recent sale of Natural Bridge (the rock archway attraction, not the town) to the state of Virginia has given Foamhenge an uncertain future. Foamhenge is built on Natural Bridge land, and Virginia plans to turn the land into a state park.
Foamhenge creator Mark Cline, however, told us that fans of Foamhenge have reasons not to worry: 1) The park conversion is expected to take up to five years, so there's no rush to dismantle Foamhenge and enough time to work out an agreement. 2) Some Virginia officials don't want to keep Foamhenge, but others do, and Foamhenge is recognized by the state as a big draw to the region. 3) If Foamhenge is forced to leave, Mark already has offers from several nearby communities that are eager to take it. "The state would be foolish to let it go, in my opinion," said Mark, "but if they do, it will have a nice new home."

Foamhenge is still there, but it is deteriorating. Hope Prof. Cline makes repairs soon. Look for a whitewashed fence on the west side of the road, about 1 mile north of Natural Bridge. Steep climb to site.
