It is open (well, at the moment) and now called Nana's. I stopped to take a photo and was enticed by a burrito covered in green chile. Not bad at all.

Still standing with glitzy sign and all. Great stuff on all sides, including an adorable river walk park (across the street) and an Indian-themed tasting room (about a block further down).

[Paul, 01/25/2010]Longer half-life than we thought: the Uranium Cafe in Grants, NM, has not closed, as previously reported! According to Che, "I was just in Grants, New Mexico (7-3-97) and took some pictures of it." It features a great neon sign (worthy of Roadside's "Atomic Tour")

- I-40 exits 81 or 81B. Drive north to Santa Fe Ave (old Route 66) and turn right. Drive around a half-mile and the Cafe will be on the right, across the street from a small park.

October 2007 - A Route 66 icon, the Uranium Cafe closed in March 2007, after reopening in 2006 for a while. Seems to still be closed.
