Uranium Cafe

It is open (well, at the moment) and now called Nana's. I stopped to take a photo and was enticed by a burrito covered in green chile. Not bad at all.

Still standing with glitzy sign and all. Great stuff on all sides, including an adorable river walk park (across the street) and an Indian-themed tasting room (about a block further down).

Uranium Cafe

Uranium Cafe is still closed, and has a for sale sign. Peering through the window . . . everything looks great inside, full furniture and everything. Alas.

Uranium Cafe

Longer half-life than we thought: the Uranium Cafe in Grants, NM, has not closed, as previously reported! According to Che, "I was just in Grants, New Mexico (7-3-97) and took some pictures of it." It features a great neon sign (worthy of Roadside's "Atomic Tour")

October 2007 - A Route 66 icon, the Uranium Cafe closed in March 2007, after reopening in 2006 for a while. Seems to still be closed.
