Rolla, Missouri: A&W Burger Family (Gone)
Dad, Mom, Teen, and Baby stood atop a trailer on which was written "Discount Food." Then they were restored and moved down the road into a fenced-in enclosure. Then the owners closed their business in late 2020. The Family is currently in storage.

I can verify that the A&W Root Beer family has escaped. I had stopped to photograph them in 2008, so I know I had the right location.
[Murph, 12/04/2010]I exited I-44 at the Dillon exit (E of Rolla) yesterday specifically looking for the A&W family (which I had seen last spring). I did not find it. I saw Rt 66 motors, just down Rt 66 and the dripping faucet neon sign, but no A&W family? Are they gone? Have they moved? Did I somehow just miss them?
[hjrw, 05/10/2010]A&W Happy Family - Missing Teenager
The Teen Burger figure is missing. The family is now standing on a smaller truck, too. I don't know if there wasn't room for him or if the family moved to smaller digs when he left.
[Ken Roggenkamp, 11/16/2009]The Happy Family was made for A&W Root Beer by Steve Dashew's company, International Fiberglass. This is the entire family! All four members, still holding their namesake burgers. They are simply sitting on the top of a truck trailer along Route 66, rather faded, but otherwise seem in good shape. The truck is in front of a metal building that claims to be a grocery store, and a trailer park (which is for sale) that advertises that it has a grumpy owner.
[Priscilla Bledsaw, 08/30/2006]Burger Family
"Burger Family" at Discount Foods, Rolla, MO (on north access road to I-44 at mile marker 190, 2-3 miles east of Rolla). The store wasn't open when I was there and I couldn't find a listing in the phone book.
