Biosphere II

We drove from Phoenix to see biosphere -- the second earth, as it is billed. When we arrived at the gate there were two workers turning people away. It had snowed 1/2" in Oracle -- all of which was melted when we arrived -- and Biophere was closed due to the weather. Maybe they should reconsider that "second earth" thing, since I can't remember the last time the first earth closed because of a little snow.

Biosphere II

We went to Biosphere II and were very suspicious. The head tour guide, Claudio, was dodging questions about the problems the 'Sphere has had. Regarding the ant infestation, he replied "Some see the glass half empty, others glass half full. I don't know why people say such mean things about us. If look hard you might see some ants." I can tell you, that place is teeming, crawling, swimming, and swarming with ants! Each tour guide told us a slightly different story. It all smelled of a clumsy cover-up. Something is afoot at Biosphere II.
