- From Indianapolis take I-65 south to the Franklin exit. Follow Hwy 44 to US Hwy 31 and drive south, about eight miles, to the town of Amity. A couple of miles from the Amity sign is Long's Furniture World and the rocking chair on the right (just south of CR 400 S.).

World's Largest Rocking Chair - Big John Big John really is big! This is probably one of the largest roadside attractions I've encountered. The big chest used as an entrance to the furniture store is an added plus! Picnic tables flank the chair, acknowledging its special significance.
[Kait, 06/10/2012]Someone reported the giant furniture at Long's Furniture World gone in July '09. I drove past them today and happily report that the store is still there and open, and Big John and the giant dresser is still there!
[lbrown, 10/20/2009]Along highway 31 north of Edinburgh you'll pass a furniture store and see a giant rocking chair. It's name is Big John. The store also has a giant dresser in front of it. If you like big things, you need to see them!

World's Largest Rocking Chair Our destination was the small town of Amity, just south of Franklin, IN, to see the largest rocking chair in the world, which is located at Long's Furniture. A sign promotes it as "Home of the World's Largest Rocking Chair."
There's also a large dresser on the front of the Long's Furniture World building.
