Las Vegas Star Trek Experience Finally Opens

After a six month delay, the promised ultimate Star Trek tourist attraction in Las Vegas is open to the public. Stars from the series attended the gala grand opening celebration, as thousands of Trekkies lined up to solemnly shuffle into the shrine and gaze at $70 million in Trek-ertainment.

Star Trek: the Experience, features displays of more than 200 Star Trek items, a complete chronology of the entire franchise, and a motion ride that puts visitors in a shuttle craft battle and beams them onto the bridge of a Federation starship. [01/11/1998]
