Change of Guard at Wall Drug
A new generation has picked up the reigns on the runaway prairie wagon known as Wall Drug, Wall SD. Management of one of the world's best loved tourist traps is now in the hands of Rick Hustead, son of owner Bill Hustead and grandson of founder Ted Hustead.
Ted Hustead, 95, is still resident at a nursing home in Phillip, SD; 71-year old Bill - always a gracious host during our visits - has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. Rick is the third generation of the Hustead family to operate The Ice Water Drug Store in its 67-year history. The sign out front now reads "TED, BILL AND RICK HUSTEAD'S WALL DRUG STORE."
Wall Drug now can be visited online, at their new website at www.walldrug.com.
