Elvis-Themed Race Cars Enshrined At Graceland
While we're on the subject of honor...In honor of Elvis Presley's birthday, January 8, NASCAR's Rusty Wallace and NHRA's John Force presented their Elvis-themed race cars to the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum in Memphis, TN. The press release provided no details as to what constitutes an Elvis-themed race car, although we imagine that they're alcohol-fueled and very, very heavy.
[RA: Dave Mitchell updates us: "As to what constitutes an Elvis-themed race car, the Elvis estate 'sponsored' said cars at their Las Vegas races last year. Rusty Wallace's blue and white Miller Lite Ford Taurus featured Elvis graphics on the hood and quarter panels (it ran on gasoline, btw). John Force's nitro-burning Mustang funny car was much cooler-looking, black with keyboard and "Burning Love" graphics. It's the faster of the two (300 mph to 190 for the stock car). Diecast souvenir cars of both are widely available."]
