Wall Drug owner dies

Bill Hustead, 72, passed away on Oct. 3. The son of Wall Drug's founders and manager of the attraction for decades, Bill had been in poor health (ALS- Lou Gehrig's disease). He had recently been honored by the South Dakota Governor's Conference on Tourism as the 1999 winner of the Ben Black Elk Award for his dramatic effect on SD tourism. Wall Drug continues under the command of Bill's son Rick. We will remember Bill as a gracious host during our stops for ice water, souvenirs and photo ops. See you on the Great Highway, Bill....
