The Paul Bunyan statue outside of the Timbers Lounge dates from the mid-1960s, when it was created to advertise Kirby Wood Lumber Co. and fabricated by a local business called Art Forms, owned by Richard Kishel. An old post card shows the Bunyan originally standing at the corner of Liberty Street and Hoyt Avenue.
There's a Facebook group discussing this called "Lost Muncie."
