Muncie, Indiana - Muffler Man

No longer Jack Smith and Sons RV Sales, now a Mac Allister Equipment Rental outlet. The muffler man is still named Jack RV, but no longer holds anything in his right hand. [Ross Trimboli, 06/10/2006]

This is an update of the Muffler Man at Interstate 69 at exit 41. The locale is no longer Jack Smith and Son's RV Sales, but is now The Rental Store (Heavy machinery rental). He's also lost the RV he was holding. [Brian Canary, 02/26/2005]

I wanted to confirm the 2 M-men sightings in Muncie, IN. They are both correct in their details. I have lived in the Muncie, IN area for most of my life and I believe that Muncie must be a portal, or something, for these giant creatures to enter our world. For instance, not only do we have the 2 M-men (Jack Smith's RV and Timber's Restaurant), but we even have a giant Frog (Ceramic Tile and Carpet on Granville Ave.). There used to be 2 giant chickens, however I think they flew the coop (Sorry...Couldn't resist). We also have a HUGE Larry Bird carved "totem pole" style out of a tree. He stands in front of the Oasis Bar on Burlington Ave.

As a bit of history about our 2 M-men, The one at the Timbers restaurant used to be in front of a local lumber co. He is in the Bunyan style with flannel shirt and ax. The other one used to sit on Broadway Ave at a local car lot until they went out of business. [Jim Coil, 03/28/1999]

There is a Muffler Man located on Interstate 69, exit 41 at Muncie, Indiana. He is holding a miniature RV in his up-turned right hand for Jack Smith and Sons RV Sales. A sign hangs from the down-turned left hand. He is 18 feet tall, and wearing red pants and a white shirt. He was last spotted today. [Peggy Druesedow, 03/07/1997]
