- Buena Park, California - Movieland Wax Museum
This wax museum is far superior to the Hollywood Wax Museum up north. The reason? Size and sets. Movieland is quite big and features some very elaborate sets, like Superman's Fortress of Solitude and the Poseidon Adventure's upside down engine room! The gift shop in the middle of the museum is wonderful, it hasn't changed in at least 25 years. There is also a great horror section, which used to be an attraction called the Black Box, which was a walk-through narrated by Vincent Price himself.

- Burbank, California - Flying Saucer Crash?
Across the street from the Burbank Airport, is an interesting retail theme. It's Fry's Electronics, on the SW corner Vanowen and Hollywood Way. The front of the building is constructed to look like a flying saucer crashed into it. There's half a flying saucer sticking out of the building, with tromp l'oeil cracks, shadows, and burn marks painted/sculpted in. Inside, the store is themed like some sort of '50s science fiction movie.
