In a private home's yard, there's a tree trunk that's been carved to resemble a lit candle. The word "PEACE" is spelled out in letters attached to the tree. It's visible from the street, and easily photographed from the sidewalk. I haven't seen any news reports about it, and there didn't seem to be anyone home to ask about it.
[Julie Mangin, 05/01/2012]A family operates an enormous model train layout, said to be one of the largest in the country. It opened in the summer of 2011. Several trains run throughout. The variety of scenery includes several areas (not based on any real places) with towns, farms, diners, a circus, a volcano, and even a UFO landing site with crop circles. Along the path around the layout there are some buttons to push that make things light up or move.
It is a new facility which is wheelchair accessible, so I was able to bring my elderly mother to see it. It made a nice outing for Mother's Day.
[Julie Mangin, 05/21/2012]Our moms like crop circles, too.

Ignored for centuries, America's first President finally has an outdoor statue that people can visit. John Hanson was the first President of the United States in Congress Assembled (in 1781), which oversaw the new nation before the Constitution was ratified and George Washington became official President No. 1 (in 1789). A technicality? Not in the eyes of those who bankrolled this statue, which was unveiled in August 2012. It stands, according to its plaque, so that the people of Maryland and the United States "may at last pay tribute to their first President."

From the photo, the candle looks like it's been weathering for a while. Maybe the Peace Candle was a hippie-style post-9/11 memorial?
