Home of Lincoln's Killer's Killer - A Hole

Concordia, Kansas

Dugout Site.

Loopiest Lincoln Landmarks.

This is a crazy landmark, oh-so worth visiting just to say you did. With orders to apprehend but not kill Lincoln's assassin, soldier Boston Corbett instead shot John Wilkes Booth dead. Corbett was an unorthodox character, and later in life he lived in a hole in the ground near Concordia. A thoughtful boy scout erected a monument and Dugout sign in 1958.
