Dale Earnhardt's "Garage Mahal"
Mooresville, North Carolina
Built in 1999, NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt's glass and granite multimillion dollar headquarters has been dubbed the "Garage Mahal" by his fans, and was the largest development complex ever built for a NASCAR racing organization. Its 6,000-square-foot chrome-plated showroom (with gold drinking fountains) houses a museum of Dale, including all seven of his Winston Cup Series championship trophies, several of his old race fire suits and cars, a stuffed deer, and the shotgun Dale used to kill it. Visitors can request a tour of the rest of the facility, and are encouraged to buy Dale stuff in the gift shop.
