Bob Dylan's Boyhood Home

For Bob Dylan diehard fans and completists, the plain duplex house on North Third Avenue is a necessary stop. Dylan, aka Robert Zimmerman, was born in Duluth in 1941, and his parents lived on the second floor here. By age six, Bob's family moved to Hibbing, the more famous of the Dylan heritage sites.

The Duluth house was last reported owned by a Dylan devotee. On Bob's 75th birthday, May 24, 2016, a small, round plaque was embedded in the front sidewalk; it has Dylan's face and the words, "In Bob We Trust."

Address:: 519 N. 3rd Ave. E., Duluth, MN
Directions:: I-35 exit 256A, onto Messaba Ave. toward Superior St. Drive a couple of blocks and bear right onto W. 2nd St. Drive nine blocks and turn left onto N. 3rd Ave. E. (not N. 3rd Ave. W., which you will pass along the way). Drive north three blocks. The house is on the left (west) side, the first one north of the alley, between 5th and 6th Sts.
