World's Largest Cuckoo Clock

As of September 2010, the clock is definitely down for (hopefully) repairs. [Erin Kelly, 09/11/2010]

The clock was purchased by Walnut Creek Cheese, Walnut Creek, Ohio. It has not been moved yet, Walnut Creek Cheese is in the process of donating the clock to the town of Sugarcreek, Ohio, aka "The Little Switzerland of Ohio," where it will find its new home. No exact location or timetable has been established for the move. [Walnut Creek Cheese, 03/10/2010]

World's Largest Cuckoo Clock

On Labor Day we went to Amish Country to the Amish Door restaurant, which is a few miles away from the Cuckoo Clock.

I decided to ask our sweet server about the clock. I was so surprised she had an answer for me! She said that 2 weeks ago they were auctioning off all the items in the restaurant part of the building and that someone from Walnut Creek actually bought the clock! She heard it was a cheese place. She was as excited as I was about this and we both hope they can move the clock and get it going for everyone to enjoy. I can finally quit circling that building every time I go down there! World's Largest Cuckoo Clock - gone!

I believe it was in the Cleveland Plain Dealer last year that someone had brought the beautiful cuckoo clock down to ground level for everyone to see. We went down 8/09 only to see the restaurant closed up and for sale, and drove around back and saw no evidence of the clock anywhere. I have gone there many times in the past and my grandkids and I were always fascinated. It was truly a treasure to behold. [Barbara Shroka, 09/02/2009]
