Blue Earth, Minnesota: Sprout: Former Papa Burger

1960s A&W Papa Burger statue remade as the Jolly Green giant's little sidekick, or perhaps a mini-version of the giant himself. His root beer mug now holds jelly beans.

Sprout Statues: Community Art

The Sprout at the Jolly Green Giant statue now has a dozen siblings. Look for the board at Giant Park with photos and addresses of them. There are several Sprouts downtown, one at the pool, and one at the airport. My favorite is the one at Cedar Inn, 324 N. Grove.

The Sprouts were placed around town in July 2018. All are painted differently except for the skin color, which had to be regulation Sprout green.

Sprout, Jolly Green Giant's Bud

Sprout has moved to the Shell gas station closest to the highway on the southbound side. He has a big piece of fudge in one hand and jelly beans in the other.

Sprout, Jolly Green Giant's Bud

He's back! Spotted a new-look Little Sprout statue outside the now-reopened gas station/convenience store. As you can see, he's now advertising the fact they carry both Jelly Bellys and fudge.

Papa Burger Goes Green

In the shadow of the 50ft Green Giant is the Li'l Sprout statue at the gas station, that is actually an A&W Papa Burger painted green with a green leaf suit pop riveted to him. My daughter noticed the green sideburns.

Also, the Jolly Green Giant is sporting a Race for the Cure t-shirt. Very cool. Gift shop did not have much but they did have Li'l Sprout soft plastic statues for under $10, and the Dairy Queen next door was quite refreshing.
