Visitor Tips and News About Storyland - Remnants
After a successful stop at a giant coffee pot, we thought we'd check out a defunct Fairy Tale Land. Much like in an actual fairy tale, everything was all magic -- giant whales, mushroom houses, gingerbread men, and Humpty Dumpty- -- until the Big Bad Wolf arrived. Central PA's version drives a four wheeler and wears a Trump t-shirt. "CAN'T YOU READ MY SIGNS, I'M SICK OF THIS S**T!!" yelled the BBW as he revved his engine in a threatening manner towards Amy. "I OUGHTA CALL THE STATE POLICE" he roared in response to Goldilock's sassy response. In a happy ending, Hansel and Gretel escaped in an Acura as he huffed and puffed and maybe blew the shoe house down.[Damien, 09/21/2016]
Though few children recall being read the No Trespassing fairy tales chapter, they have no one to blame but themselves if they end up baked into a pie.
Storyland - Remnants We just visited this and got screamed at! Storyland is scaryland! [Amy, 02/06/2013]
Wandering into the winter woods at a closed theme park is what children in a fairy tale might do, just before being eaten.
Storyland Remnants - Pied Piper, Shoe House
We were on our way to the Flight 93 Memorial in the fields of Shanksville on Rt. 30 (Lincoln Hwy), when we came across these oddities on the side of the road. Wasn't sure whether if they're really big lawn ornaments, or a showcase to attract shoppers. We would've ventured in further, but the memorial was our priority at the time.[Nat Balsley, 02/23/2008]
They're the last statues and structures from a kiddie fairy tale park long closed.
