T-Rex with product placement. Oakdale - Montville, Connecticut - The Dinosaur Place

The Dinosaur Place has a really great T. Rex statue out in front. When I went by, he was wearing shades and holding a Coke can that kind of ruined the effect, but I suppose that's his summer attire.

There are 25 other dinosaur statues along the park's trails, including one that I could see through the fence that was at least 30 feet tall. Unfortunately, I was on my way to a meeting and couldn't take the time to see the rest of them. There's also a maze, a water park, and a place for kids to dig for gems and fossils. [Dean Jeffrey, 09/12/2009]

Montville, Connecticut - Dinosaur Place - T-Rex

The T-Rex is called Monty. The place is called Dinosaur Place. Lots of life-size dinosaurs are in the woods around a pond. A volcano goes off every hour in the pond. Also a small water play area and a dinosaur-themed playground. Ice cream shop and an indoor building has mining activities. My kids loved it. [Lori, 03/17/2009]

Montville, Connecticut - Dinosaur Place

Grabbed brochure at our local attractions display: "prehistoric outdoor exploration and discovery on 50 acres of pristine woodlands. Encounter over 25 life-sized dinosaurs set amid miles of easy walking trails." "Your journey begins by walking under the belly of the 'long-neck' Brachiosaurus, an immense creature that measures 75 feet long and 40 feet tall - large enough to drive a car under!" Other things you can do indoors at an additional cost: panning for gold, digging up fossils and digging for gems in a mine. [melissa, 07/26/2005]

[RA: "Dinosaur Crossing" has been renamed "Dinosaur Place."]

Oakdale, Connecticut - Life-size T-Rex

Just wanted to add that the life-size T-Rex gets dressed up for the holidays (Santa hat, Valentine's Day heart necklace). The lighthearted accessories are in direct conflict with his ominous red eyes. There are also several more life-size dinosaurs stalking prey behind the Dinosaur Tracks ice cream shop. [Kathy, 04/04/2004]

T-Rex. Chesterfield, Connecticut - Life Size T-Rex

As of about October 2000, there is a life size and very realistic looking Tyrannosaurus Rex on Rt 85 in Montville/Chesterfield. The critter is in the parking lot of Nature's Art," a combination Museum/Gem/Mineral/Gift Shop. It even has lighted red eyes after dark. [Lance J., 02/04/2001]
