Easternmost Fisherman Holding a Fish This 12 foot tall fisherman was built as a prop for the Hollywood/FOX shooting of Murder in Small Town X in 2000. It was a miniseries. A whodunit of sorts, with ten contestants. The winner walked away with $100,000. The man who won was a fire fighter in New York City who later was killed when the twin towers fell.
The fiberglass fisherman was donated to the City of Eastport, and three years later it was sent to Nebraska to be refurbished. The statue made it back in time for the 4th of July Parade in 2005. It is now setting in its place on a pedestal at the city wharf. [Patrick Keough, 07/18/2006]
Easternmost Goofy Statue The so-called "Easternmost Goofy Statue" of a fisherman in Eastport, Maine, was a prop created for the Fox TV series, "Murder in Small Town X," filmed in the area in 2001. The finale aired September 4 of that year, and sadly, the winner, Angel Juarbe, a New York firefighter, was killed a week later at the World Trade Center. [Mark Bickford, 11/11/2005]
Easternmost Goofy Statue Spotted this guy holding a fish in Eastport Maine, the easternmost city in the United States according to their sign. This must be the easternmost Muffler Man in the United States.
[John Basic, 10/13/2005][RA: Nice find -- he's not a Muffler Man, though his arm position comes close. He's probably the goofiest easternmost statue in the US. ]
