Wendover, Utah - Wendover Army Airfield - Con-Air Movie Plane Fascinating place. Wendover Army Airfield is a nearly complete WWII airbase. The people there are very friendly and you are allowed to climb the tower and walk about the base on your own. Lots of photos and exhibits as well as the plane used in the movie Con-Air (Fairchild C-123K). [Roger Sleight, 06/30/2008]
Wendover, Utah - Airfield Museum, Atomic Bomb Loading Pit Visited Historic Wendover airfield museum -- a small museum in the operations building of the Wendover Utah airport. It's a great place, with tons of pictures and dioramas, and several items of memorabilia, including a full size replica of an atomic bomb signed by the crew of the B-29 "Enola Gay".
The airplane used in movie "Con-Air" is also there to walk through, and a self guided driving tour is available. We found an airport employee who took us on a tour that included the Atomic Bomb Loading Pit! [Tom, 02/03/2006]
