Visitor Tips and News About Pinkie the Pink Elephant
We have over 600 miles to drive today, but I just had to stop and see this guy! Thanks to the new owners for keeping it going. I don't mind the stickers and graffiti, it just makes it more of a hipster elephant.[Bridget, 08/04/2013]
Pinkie's owner had the elephant repainted in 2014, and has asked visitors to please stop the graffiti.
This pink elephant has not moved. It's been in the same spot since the 1960s. It's in front of a Holiday gas station. You can buy pink elephant stickers and magnets inside.[Cat, 08/08/2011]
The Pink Elephant! Perhaps one of the best sites to be seen. His glasses are the best. So glad we ran across him. An absolute must for everyone.[Brandy Gergescz, 06/14/2011]
We loved him! Totally worth a stop. Even bought a key chain.[Nicole, 09/05/2010]
My family and I re-opened the Pink elephant gas station and store in May, and really love visiting with people. The elephant has been in our town for about 50 years and has always been a part of our lives. It was my husband's 1st job pumping gas way back when; he grew up just a mile down the road.
The station is a Citgo and has had many names throughout the years. We named the station Andy's Pink Elephant in memory of our infant son, who passed away in 1991 with a heart defect. It is his elephant. We have started a Wall of Fame and are hoping visitors will send in new and old photos of the elephant to put up on the stations walls. People enjoy looking at them and reading the Wall of Fame.[April and Terry at Andy's pink elephant, 08/17/2010]
